We can always count on Nissan to really step outside the box when it comes to style and design. Its latest invention is the Nissan ZEOD RC, which recently debuted at the Fuji Speedway. The Zero Emissions on Demand race car brings innovation to the track like we have never seen before.

The ZEOD RC was on display for all to see during the FIA World Endurance Championship in Fuji. It was also taken for a spin by Michael Krumm, a former GT1 Champion. When describing his experience, Krumm said everything about the vehicle felt new to him. He explains, "Normally, electric vehicles don't have a transmission, but this car has a full racing gearbox connected to the motor. The gearbox is the same as a normal racing car. It has an electric powertrain that gives you a very new feeling. It was really fun."1

Believe it or not, this futuristic racecar went from the design stage to the track in an impressive seven months. Nissan used the design of its current Deltawing racecar and transformed it into the ZEOD RC by adding a hybrid engine. The unique element to this model is that it's not purely electric, which is how it gets its peculiar name.

What's next for the racecar? It will appear at the 24 Hour of Le Mans race next year completing its laps with electric power. We will be sure to keep all of you in the Eugene, OR area updated right here on Nissan blog, so be sure to stay tuned for more news.

You can also feel free to visit Lithia Nissan of Eugene anytime during our normal business hours. While we don't offer futuristic models like the ZEOD RC, the new Nissan lineup still has plenty of stylish models worth exploring. We look forward to see you soon!
