All the way back in the merry month of May, we told you fine folks that the one and only Usain Bolt had been named our new Global Brand Ambassador. It was a humbling honor for an extraordinary athlete and a point of pride for us here at Lithia Nissan of Eugene. And when we heard about the two golden 2014 Nissan GT-R models that he was given as part of deal, we'll admit, we were pretty envious.

As for what he did with those two mean machines, well, he kept one his garage like any sane person would do. The other one was auctioned off to the highest bidder where all the proceeds went to the Usain Bolt Foundation that helps create educational and cultural opportunities for underprivileged youth in Jamaica. The winning bid went to an unnamed individual hailing from Melbourne, Australia who paid $187,100 for that gold-plated beauty, and if you asked us, it was worth every penny.

Just this week, he finally got the four-wheeler he paid for, and as green as our envy continues to be, it's hard to get bitter over such a good cause.

"The Nissan GT-R just get better and better and more refined each year," says the man with the winning bid, "and the fact that this gold GT-R also celebrates the incredible achievements of the great Usain Bolt makes it something very special indeed."1

Now, we really can't let Usain Bolt and an Australian philanthropist have all the fun, can we? With that said, feel free to take the 2014 GT-R for a test drive at our dealership here in Eugene, OR. No promises on the golden paint job, but something tells us you won't be disappointed.
