When shopping for a new vehicle it's easy to only consider the MSRP. But what if you're choosing to buy your car and have it long-term rather than lease it? That's when it's helpful to know what models stand the test of time when it comes overarching costs.

At Lithia Nissan of Eugene, we're excited to announce that the Nissan LEAF and the Nissan Armada--two vastly different vehicles--have both received 5-Year Cost-To-Own awards from Kelley Blue Book. The LEAF won the Electric Vehicle segment and the Armada the Full-Size SUV segment.

(In fact, this is the 5th year in a row that the eco-friendly LEAF has earned this distinction and the 2nd year for the large-and-in-charge Armada.)

Here's what KBB looks at when awarding vehicles:

  • Cost for taxes and state registrations
  • Resale value
  • Maintenance costs
  • Fuel
  • Insurance

If you're a shopper who enjoys owning their vehicles, we suggest checking out these award-winning models for the financially savvy cost-to-own ratings.
